programme for future meetings

During the past summer months we have held very few meetings, this has mostly been due to work and other personal commitments that members have had. Now that the summer is coming to an end, it has been decided that we should hold regular meetings, at least on a monthly basis, and that a regular programme of events should be drawn up to take place.

The first regular meeting will be held on Thursday 1st October and on the first Thursday of the month thereafter. Meetings will be held in the Noust at the Pickaqouy Centre at 8pm unless otherwise stated.

During the first meeting we plan to show a number of past film projects, both personal and group oriented, and also discuss the 'My Orkney' projects we have been working on. We would also like to draw up a regular programme for future meetings so anyone with any ideas for events should come along to discuss them.

Marshall Dean leaves OMG and Orkney to EMIGRATE to Canada.

Marshall Dean one of the original co-founders of OMG has left Orkney and emigrated to Sudbury in Canada. He will take up a post there in road design with a govenment department. Marshall has contributed much to the formation of the OMG and to its continued development. As club secretary his work has been invaluble and he has acted as a major driving force in getting projects off the ground and keeping them up and running. He will be a huge miss and very difficult to replace.

We all wish him the best of luck in his new venture and hope that everything works out well for him and his family in his new home.
