OMG to hold film making workshops
A Series of 5 short workshops on various aspects of film making are to be hosted by the OMG and held at the Pickaqouy Centre in the St Magnus Suite starting 7:30pm Thursday 5th March. Each course will last for approx 1 hour and will cost £5 for members of the general public and £2 for subscribed OMG members.

Workshop 1: 5th March 7:30pm - Basic camera operation and use.
The workshop will cover various elements of camera operation including focus, iris control, exposure, white balance, shutter speed etc. Aspects of camera use and set up will also be covered and both simple and professional camera types will be taken into consideration.
Workshop 2: 12th March 7:30pm - Lighting and sound.
In the second workshop Sean Lewis will look into aspects of lighting and sound for both indoor and outdoor locations.
Workshop 3: 19th March 7:30pm - Shooting and camera Techniques.
Sean Lewis demonstates the use of story boards, camera angles and shooting techniques.
Workshop 4: 26th March 7:30pm - Computer use and file types.
Paul Kenyon demonstrates the use of computers in film making. File types used in editing programs, transferring film from camera to computer, saving files and creating DVD's.
Workshop 5: 16th April 7:30pm - Editing and editing techniques.
In this last workshop Bafta award winning editor Mark Jenkins will be taking a class and talking about the craft of editing. He will discuss structure and how to use scene cards, why and when to 'cut' and working with scripts, directors and crew members.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in the Noust but if that is not available then it will be held in the St Magnus Suite. |
